Bereavement
Mission: - SERVE
To provide spiritual support, guidance, comfort and love to hurting family members during the loss of a family member or loved one through the Spirit of Christ keeping the focus on Christ to strengthen them and bring others to the knowledge of Christ and His salvation and promise of life everlasting. Communication between the Church staff and Bereavement Ministry is essential.
Theme Scripture:
Galatians 6:10 - "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."
Team Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the office staff concerning the arrangements for all services.
- Communicate with the family to evaluate needs and communicate this to the office.
- Provide support and encouragement during the time of bereavement.
- If needed, coordinate with office for arrangement of service and/or repast at Cornerstone facilities.
- If needed, coordinate Cornerstone office and/or members to supply food for family and/or repast.
- Pray for and with the family members.
Signs of God's Activity:
The Bereaved family will feel the love of Christ through Cornerstone Baptist Church.
